Satellite Beach Dog Park has special breed nights .. so hopefully tonight we’re going to go check out their Dachshund night! We’ve never been to Satellite Beach Dog Park .. but hopefully the weather is good, and theres a good turn out I’ll be sure to have mom take pictures if we end up going!

A Little Dog Rant

.. I’m not looking forward to the dog parks being un-manned. Mom told me that by the end of september, any dog, and any owner could show up at the park to play, or cause trouble. It didnt really bother me much when I thought about it before .. but last Sunday my brothers and I were hanging out with some sweet big dogs on the big dog side of the park when a boxer and a pit bull showed up. Of course Frank being the greeter that he is .. ran through the fence (Mom was even blocking the opening, he’s just that good) and was saying hi to the new guys .. when all of a sudden a big gigantic paw landed on him. I’m sure the other dog didnt mean to hurt him or anything, but it scared Frank half to death .. he was crying so much you would’ve thought his leg was broken! Mom quickly ushered us over to the small dog side .. Frank stopped crying right away and ran with me along the fence with our new friends on the other side. It was scary, for a second .. but what would’ve happened if those dogs were super aggressive and the attendant hadnt held them off long enough for us to get back to the small dog side .. I shudder to think! Mom said she’ll be watching much more carefully when new dogs come to play.

Looking forward to our play date with Biscuit tomorrow!!

Went to the dog park .. 2 days in a row!

Mom surprised us with a trip to the dog park yesterday .. I guess we were kinda driving her nuts chasing each other in the living room. So we headed out to Palm Bay Regional Park to burn off some steam. At first it was just the 3 of us. It was Rocky’s first trip so we showed him around the place, lots of things to smell. Then this little shaggy puppy showed up, it was his first visit too, so he went over to the big dog yard to get used to hanging out ‘off leash’ Soon we were running along the fence with him and our moms decided to see how we played together. As soon as Jack came over we were quick friends, chasing each other and jumping in and out of the pool. After an hour or so mom took us all home to relax and cool off. But by late afternoon we were back to chasing each other around the living room.

Mom told our friend Biscuit’s mom about the dog park, and how much fun it is there, and so she set up a play date with Biscuit for this morning. We couldn’t wait .. we were so excited this morning we wouldnt let mom get out of our sight because we didnt want her to leave without us. Finally we got out the door and made the long trip to the park. Soon after we got there, our new friend Jack showed up again, and we explored the park in our pack. After a little while Biscuit showed up and we introduced her to the park, and our friend Jack. What a great morning! But now I can’t wait to take a nap. Mom had her camera with her today .. so here are a few pictures!

I want a dog beach!

There’s this wonderful organization called BARC, the Brevard Animal Recreation Club, that works very hard to get pets like us fun places to play. I love to visit the Palm Bay Dog Park as often as mom will take me. One of my favorite parts of the park is jumping in their little pool. I love to splash around. Mom brought me to the Sebastian Inlet Dog Area when I was little, and we were very disapointed to find dead birds and fish on the shore, and we had to stay on our leashes. (Mom wouldn’t have let us off our leash anyways because my brother Frank just wanted some Eau De Dead Bird on his neck)

Anyway, back to the beach. BARC is starting a petition to get a dog beach in Brevard County. PLEASE head over to their site and request to sign the petition, or if you know my mom email her directly as she already has a petition and is collecting signatures. Together we can get ourselves a little spot in the surf!
